These were the best of timelines, these were the worst of timelines. They are definitely the most exhausting of timelines.
No one could predict that in the Year of Somebody’s Lord — 2024 — millions of our fellow citizens would be in thrall to a public figure who doesn’t belong anywhere near a microphone, stage, megaphone, podium or dais.
If you have nothing good to say about someone — my parents used to gravely intone — better to say nothing at all.
Or to approach it from another angle…
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
We can thank the Bible for that gem. Maybe if Don_Old had actually read the overpriced Made-in-China Bibles he hawks, he’d learn how to hold his lugubrious, rakish tongue.
What am I saying? I can tell you with 100% certainty, he will never hold his tongue, he will never still his twitter-finger and he will never “pivot” toward being “presidential”. Nor will he ever be house trained.
Don_Old puts the most boorish of boors to shame.
Don_Old projectile vomits every worthless thought that passes through his thick skull.
Don_Old has the charm and charisma of a Best Buy bouncer on Black Friday.
Don_Old throws everyone under the bus…eventually.
As we approach V-Day on November 5th, his campaign dodges hard-hitting interviews, debates, open-ended town halls with actual undecided (incredibly there does exist such a thing) voters while ricocheting from praising Nazis, lying about FEMA funds in hurricane-ravaged parts of our country and casting aspersions toward his opponent that have no basis in reality.
A made a new friend on Substack — I jest — I encountered a true believer from the Cult of Don_Old who popped up in my line of vision because this person wants to properly educate those of us content to believe what we see and read and witness with our very own eyes.
This guy — like Don_Old — hates to not be “noticed” or engaged with. You can tell by his remarks he’s not an imbecile. But he is living in his very own reality — which Karl Rove told us Republicans were going to do back around the turn of this century. I first encountered this educated ratfucker when he responded to Jay Kuo’s post which was a video on MSNBC with Vice President Harris and Liz Cheney.
Video first. Then his bad faith remarks.
Substack saboteur says:
So fake! She’s trying to sound stoic or intellectual or something, but it falls flat every time. It slides into this cringy word salad empty meaningless cold abyss of nothingness. Totally embarrassing to read, let alone listen to. I can’t even begin to point out the absurdity of this nonsensical campaign speech.
First of all, this was a town hall, not a speech, so I’m guessing our antagonist didn’t watch or listen to it. Second of all, he’s clearly describing the Hitler-loving felon who is also running for president. I wonder if any reporter has asked the convicted felon if he plans to vote? Because he’s not supposed to be able to.
Anyway. More from our MAGA troll:
You did not elect Kamala as your candidate. She was chosen for you, as an authoritarian regime might pick their successor. They bypassed the democratic process.
For the record, no one voted for the Republican vice presidential candidate either. We DID vote for both Joe Biden AND Kamala Harris in the 2020 election however.
I’m not convinced (Biden)’s actually running the country now, given what a billion people clearly witnessed.
Authoritarian lovers think strong men (or women) do it all. Don_old Republicans seem to believe government and democracy — although interesting — are irrelevant. Remember that — whoever occupies the Oval Office over the next four years — they will get to place public servants who want to do some good for the country, or they will place party hacks who will sabotage a functioning government. These appointments are where the “rubber meets the road”. Supreme Court, federal judiciary, Departments of Energy, Agriculture, Defense. And on and on.
Listen to the troll carry on. Bear in mind, he equates the January 6th, 2021 insurrection to “Woodstock” — quote to come.
Or, we’re dealing with an unprecedented level of incompetence in the highest levels of government, because no one saw that the leader of the free world’s cheese had slid off his cracker.
Some shady third world shit went down, is the only reasonable conclusion a rational person can come to.
There’s no good answer there. He didn’t lose his faculties over night. That’s not the way it works.
Of course, his Substack site has no opinion about Don_Old’s mental faculties. Talk about shady Third World shit, who’s going to tell this guy that if HIS candidate succeeds in reclaiming the highest office in the land, he and his oligarchic buddies are going to sell America off for parts to the highest bidders. After all, immigrant billionaires, like Peter Thiel and Elon Musk, have no real allegiance to borders.
Joe Biden only ran for president in 2020 because he saw the rise of white supremacy and the incompetence in the previous administration and knew a Biden administration would be a vast improvement. What he did this past summer places him in the realm of George Washington and makes him an incredible patriot. He saw the coming fall and he did not let his pride take him there.
MAGA apologists and trolls are such whiners. I love that this guy believes himself to be “rational”.
January 6th was our modern day Woodstock moment, after more than a year of extreme violence and chaos swept the nation, leaving behind a path of death and destruction costing many innocent lives and billions of dollars. Politicians are still feeding off that trough in an effort to paint it as an insurrection. January 6th was never that, but it has been turned into a political weapon of choice to attack the opposition.
So riots and city protests, in this guy’s “rational” mind, justified the storming of the nation’s Capitol in order to prevent the peaceful transfer of power. A “Woodstock” moment for the nation’s not-so-well-regulated militias who carried Nazi and Confederate flags while chanting “Hang Mike Pence!” as they pushed their way into a government building to prevent our representatives from performing their duties.
Like I told the ratfucker, I don’t remember there being gallows constructed at Yasgur’s Farm. And I sure don’t recall a plethora of racist flags and participants taking sides. I think I might have missed the Peace signs on January 6th.
But — please note — he calls it “OUR” Woodstock moment. Like Don_Old, the insurrectionists are HIS people. He wants to think of them as festival-goers who decided to physically interfere in the American election process. In his mind, they were only there to be of assistance. It was all a misunderstanding and once they barged there way inside there were not nearly enough bathrooms to accommodate them so they were forced to defecate in the halls and nooks and crannies of Congress.
And steal a few items.
And ransack a few offices.
And behave like jackasses.
And someone thought it would be a good idea to place two pipe bombs on the Capitol grounds for good measure.
I don’t think Janis Joplin would have approved.
I sure hope Don_Old inserts January 6th as “his people’s” Woodstock moment in his closing campaign arguments. I’d love to see some old riled-up hippies.
Let me know if you can see the difference between January 6th and Woodstock because there ARE fellow Americans (ostensibly) who cannot…

12 WARNING SIGNS OF A CULT
There are many signs that an organization may be a cult. Some of the following signs come from the Cult Education Institute while others are based on the work of cult researchers. Here are 12 warning signs of a cult:
The truth: In cults, there’s a belief that the leader exclusively knows the “truth”—some transcendent concept that provides a solution for people’s biggest problems and fears.
Love bombing: Cults often shower new recruits with love, a sense of community, a place to live, and a sense of hope and purpose.
Thought reform: A 2022 study shows that cult leaders use various forms of mind control to influence followers and get them to adopt shared beliefs and values.
Authoritarianism: The leader makes all rules and has undue influence over all aspects of members’ lives—finances, relationships, living situations, and more. This control comes without any sort of accountability for the leader.
No questions allowed: There is usually a lack of tolerance for criticism of or questions about the group or leader. There is a firm belief that the leader or group is right about everything.
Financial control: The leader or group maintains complete control over the financial budget and expenses without providing any statements to members.
Fear factor: The leader or group instills irrational fears about the outside world, such as anxiety about conspiracies, impending disasters, eternal damnation, or persecution.
Need to improve: Members believe they are incapable of ever being “good enough” yet are constantly seeking validation from the leader. This can lead to toxic perfectionism.
Leaving is forbidden: In cults, there is no valid reason why any member would leave, and there’s a belief that any member who does leave is wrong or even evil.
Abuse is common: Followers may experience various forms of abuse and may face threats of physical harm, shunning, and other forms of punishment.
Gaining attention: Abuses may have been documented in the media or investigated by law enforcement. This is viewed as persecution by the outside world and increases an us-vs-them mentality.
Blackmail: Members may be coerced into proving their loyalty by engaging in acts that are illegal or immoral. Then the group uses that information as blackmail that will be leaked if the follower attempts to leave.
HOW TO KNOW IF SOMEONE IS IN A CULT
When someone joins a cult, it can be difficult for friends and family members to realize it. It can also be challenging for individuals themselves to accept that their newfound community is actually a cult.
Here are some of the ways to know that someone is a member of a cult.
Members tend to exhibit a sudden and extreme devotion to the leader or group, dropping previously held beliefs and values.
Members often live together in communal housing.
As a follower’s involvement deepens, their personal identity starts to blend and blur with that of the leader, the group, and/or God.
Followers refuse to respond to any criticism or questions about the leader or group, viewing it instead as “persecution” of the group or leader.
People start using jargon, speech patterns, and mannerisms specific to the group. This can sound like the person is reading from a script.
Members seem to lose the ability to think independently while increasing reliance on the leader or group to solve problems.
Followers tend to lose interest in past goals and hobbies, replacing them with an extreme focus on the objectives of the leader or group.
A significant decrease in sense of humor and a loss of the ability to do anything on the spur-of-the-moment.
People in cults tend to isolate themselves from former friends and family and may become secretive about activities related to the group or leader.
People find ways to justify the leader’s or group’s actions regardless of how cruel, hard-hearted, or severe they may seem.
Individuals avoid former members, viewing them as bad, evil, or wrong.
WHO JOINS A CULT?
Cults typically prey upon people who are in vulnerable situations. For example, they may target any of the following:
Drug and alcohol addicts
Teenage runaways
People who have lost a loved one
Physical, sexual, or emotional trauma survivors
People in new situations (such as college students)
People struggling with mental health disorders, such as anxiety disorders and clinical depression
These individuals may be searching for purpose in life, a sense of community, or stability. They may find these things in a cult, at least temporarily.
In other instances, people may be born into a cult and grow up in the group. These children don’t know any other way of life.
